As I’m writing this, I’m laying in bed, filled full of food and resting my head after my entire body burned in excitement for this event. This was an absolute success. Everyone was trying their best to share their stories with everyone, I’ve been able to get connected with incredible people, and on top of all that, I sold 9 books! A great start!
This made me realize that people still really love reading. I went into this both excited and anxious as to the reception. This was a first for me, and the experience alone gave me enough to think about next time. Like remembering a price tag to put up, or some stands to hang my posters on, instead of having them rest on boxes.
It warmed my heart to see so many people prepared with their works. I connected with Willamette, author of a bunch of short stories, the one being advertised being Adamant in Dust. I implore people to check out their works!
Overall, this was a positive experience– I want to give a shout out to the fae couple that gushed extensively about character development and writing. When it comes to writing in general, it’s important to just… do it. Whether you feel like what you have in mind is good or not, you just find time to write! During classes, I made a point to use my preps in order to start writing my story. Taking those preps were pretty theraputic as well– I got to do something I enjoyed while I was working!
Now… I think I’ll cut this little blog short. I am tired.
