I wanted to talk about this experience– alas, work life balancing is difficult when you’re a teacher. But, either way, you cut it, this little event was lovely. The Wooden Shoe Bookstore is a nice space for anyone in need of support, while also providing for people that are interested in a variety of books meant to uplift or inform people of the state of the world!
I was asked a lot of good questions during the reading by the store’s owners and workers, and I have to say that their enthusiasm and excitement for plot points and dialogue was… well, it was really good to hear. Like, incredibly good. I never realized how excited I would be discussing my characters and my ideas until I was asked about what inspired them, and how cool it was to see them interact with one another. I was also told that I could try to do an audiobook. I’d need to get some recording equipment for that– something less like the speaker to my laptop and something more like a microphone that voice-actors use. I’ll keep that in the back-burner as another project after book two is done!
Following this update, I want to let everyone know, I’m going to be in Plymouth Meeting Mall on the 21st. It’ll be an all-day event, so you’ll be able to catch me from 9am to about 5pm, or as long as supplies last!
